HUMAN RIGHTS IN CHILDBIRTH INDIA CONFERENCE 2017

The event and content is being produced by the collaboration of the organisations HRiC and Birth India, as well as other passionate collaborators. We are joyfully working together to put on a conference in Mumbai, India in February 2017 that will address how maternity care can optimise maternal and infant health outcomes in a respectful, culturally-sensitive, human rights framework.

HRiC is an international organisation that advocates for maternal healthcare that respects and fulfills the full range of women’s human rights during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. We recognize that the care the women receives during pregnancy and birth intersects with the rights to life, health, dignity, self-determination, privacy, family life, and spiritual freedom.

Birth India is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation registered in 2011 supporting women through informed conception, pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.
